CVC Receives Planning Award!
We are pleased to announce that on June 28, 2012 CVC received the 2012 Paul Davidoff Social Change and Diversity Award from the American Planning Association, Los Angeles Section. The honor was bestowed at an Awards Ceremony at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City and pays tribute to the tremendous partnership between the City of Long Beach, Century Villages at Cabrillo, Century Housing and many other groups that have had a hand in creating the Villages. Paul Davidoff was a planning theorist who believed that planning is about much more than simply the physical environment and ultimately includes the social and economic fabric of a community. It has taken a true public-private partnership to plan and create the social and economic fabric of the Villages at Cabrillo community and this award recognizes the efforts of CVC’s many stakeholders. In particular, CVC would like to thank The Planning Center DC&E for its nomination and ongoing support of our efforts as we carry out our mission to end homelessness.
