CVC Hosts Community Meeting to discuss Anchor Place
Last night CVC hosted a community meeting that was attended by more than 50 residents and staff at the Villages at Cabrillo to discuss the proposed Anchor Place development, solicit feedback and answer community questions. Sited on 3.0 acres of land on the east side of the Villages, Anchor Place will provide 120 dignified, affordable apartment homes and move Long Beach one step closer to eradicating veteran homelessness. As a mixed population development, these 120 permanent supportive homes include 75 project‐based VASH units for veterans (through the Housing Authority of the City of Long Beach) with the balance consisting of affordable homes for families. Representing our fifth phase of development at the Villages, Anchor Place will serve as the focal development at the River Avenue access point to the campus and provide an array of amenities to our community including a fitness room, garden space, landscaped courtyards, community rooms, and extensive open green space. US VETS, the VA and CVC will provide comprehensive supportive services for our residents, ensuring that Anchor Place serves as a safe harbor where personal anchors may be set in an effort to restore wellness and hope.
CVC is in the process of assembling project financing and hopes to break ground in late 2015. Click here for a sneak peak at our proposed site plan.
