CVC Receives USGBC Affordable Green Neighborhoods Grant!
On September 30th, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and Bank of America Charitable Foundation announced that 11 projects across the country were selected for the 2014 Affordable Green Neighborhoods (AGN) grant program. Century’s Villages at Cabrillo master planned supporti
ve housing community was 1 of these 11 awardees. The grant will help CVC secure a LEED for Neighborhood Development (LEED ND) credential for its community. LEED ND is a green neighborhood rating system that integrates the principles of smart growth, new urbanism, and green building, while benefitting communities by reducing urban sprawl, increasing transportation choices, and decreasing automobile dependence, encouraging healthy living, and protecting threatened species.
