It is with deep sadness that we confirm the loss of one of our residents this morning. Officers with the Long Beach Police Department responded to reports of shots fired at one of our residential buildings, The Cabrillo Plaza, before 10 a.m. Police found the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. All residents of the building either safely evacuated or sheltered in place immediately following reports of the shooting. Police have confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the community. We are cooperating with police as they complete their investigation. We encourage residents who have any questions or need help to speak with their case manager or another member of our dedicated support team.
