Veterans Living at Century Villages at Cabrillo Receive Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine
The VA Long Beach Healthcare System brought both first and second doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to veterans living at the Villages at Cabrillo Sunday.
Century Villages at Cabrillo hosted its second COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021, from 8am-4pm. At the clinic, VA Long Beach Healthcare system provided and administered nearly 200 doses of the Moderna vaccines in the Social Hall.
After extensive outreach and coordination conducted by CVC and long-time partner agency US Vets resident services teams, appointments for Sunday’s vaccine clinic were slotted, and staff maintained contact up to and on the day of the clinic in order to ensure that all doses were utilized and that none would go to waste.
“As far as I go, I’m getting the shots to be able to bring life back to something of normalcy, around the community and across the country,” said one US Army Veteran living at the Villages who volunteered at the clinic on Sunday and hopes to continue to be able “reach out to my fellow veterans and the community.”
First doses were administered to 38 veterans, and 160 veterans received their second dose. CVC is extremely grateful for the partnership and collaboration with the VA Long Beach Healthcare System for making this possible for so many veterans living at the Villages at Cabrillo.
We are all in this together.
