As we smile into the bright face of the New Year and we reflect on all the successes and highlights of 2019, we pause to thank our Long Beach community for ongoing support of our mission. We look forward to another year of collaboration and dedication to serving veterans, families, seniors, and children who have experienced homelessness by providing dignified and uplifting homes.
Winter Fest 2019 Spreads Holiday Cheer & Festivities to The Villages
We wrapped up 2019 in grand style with a Winter Festival for our entire 27-acre community. Below are some highlights from the event. Happy New Year!
‘Twas the day of Winter Fest, and across the Grand Lawn, spread holiday cheer and many a festive song!
Homefront Rising brought CJ’s Christmas Sing-Along to life on the stage of the Grand Lawn, and following the live musical entertainment, Santa & Mrs. Claus visited with all the little ones. Santa handed out children’s books, candy, and toys to all the kids, and he and Mrs. Claus posed for family photos. All the while, family and friends enjoyed hot chocolate, holiday cookies, pop corn, and candy canes. The Children’s Clinic even provided sandwiches and chips for all the guests!
Inside the Social Hall, a holiday movie played and children made Christmas ornaments and snowflake decorations together and took turns getting their faces painted with festive designs.
The main event of Winter Fest, by popular demand, was the snow slide that took most of the day to be built and brought smiles and laughter to everyone who took a turn riding down the hill of actual snow!
