CVC Receives APA Award!
We are pleased to announce that last week CVC received an Award of Merit in the Opportunity & Empowerment category for our planning effort associated with Cabrillo Gateway and Anchor Place from the American Planning Association. This statewide award recognizes:
“… a plan, program, or project that improved quality of life for low- and moderate-income community residents. Emphasis placed on how creative housing, economic development, and private investments have been used in or with a comprehensive community development plan to empower a community. This award also emphasizes tangible results and recognizes the planning discipline and its contribution as a community strategy. The strategy should have been in effect for a minimum of three years.”In many ways, the idea of opportunity and empowerment precisely captures the type of neighborhood and environment we works so hard to craft and maintain for our residents. Thank you to the entire Century team that has supported our planning and development efforts over the years. It is wonderful to see that type of a “Village” effort getting recognized at a statewide level, an effort that continues to support the healing and recovery and growth of our residents. Earlier this year, CVC was honored with the Golden Nugget Grand Award in the Best Affordable Community category.
